Alan S. Montague, 87, died at his North Bend, OH residence on July 23, 2009.

At retirement, he was the Director of Public Works for Hamilton County, OH. He was a Civil Engineer and an alumnus of the Citadel, Charleston, SC. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army where he served as a Captain in Ordnance. He was a member of the Miller Stockum Post #485 American Legion, Cleves, OH; the Citadel Gold Corps, the Sons of Dixie (Northern KY Chapter) & the St. Luke Episcopal Church, Fernbank.

He was the beloved husband of Martha M. Bixinstine Montague, the devoted father of Alan S. Montague II (Gail) & Nancy M. Greer (Richard), the dear son of the late Samuel & Lucretia (Stephens) Montague, the dear brother of Mary Russell (Donald) & the late Samuel Montague (Esther), the loving grandfather of Patrick Montague & Spencer Greer & step grandfather of Trampas (Melissa) & Cole Greer.

Visitation Mon., July 27, 10-11 AM, followed by the service at 11 AM at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves. Interment with military honors in Maple Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Miller Stockum Post #485 American Legion, 29 E. State Rd., Cleves, OH 45002 or to St. Luke Episcopal Church, 7350 Kirkwood Ln., Cinti. 45233.
