Alice Tuttle Argo

Alice Tuttle Argo, age 72 of Tellico Village Loudon, TN passed away on March 2, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary Argo; son, Christopher; grandchildren, Rylan and Trent Argo; mother of her grandchildren, Laurie Argo all of Sugar Land, TX; sister, Jane (Jack) Kidd of Long Boat Key, FL; brother-in-law, Dan Argo; sisters-in-law, Karen Argo and Kay Argo; nieces, Peggy Kidd, Amy Tripp, and Jennifer Duerk; nephews, Larry Kidd, Doug Kidd, and Blake Argo as well as grandnieces and nephews; cousins and many friends including a very special friend, Dianne Sowards. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Elizabeth (Betty) Tuttle; brother-in-law, Mike Argo; niece, Emily Argo; and nephews Scott Argo and Sean Argo. Born in San Jose, CA on May 11, 1943, she lived in many places throughout the U.S. due to her father's job transfers. Alice graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN in 1965 with a degree in chemistry. Her working career was not confined to chemistry. She also taught school, was a home economist, Dairy Queen owner, personal assistant and credit union representative. Working was not her main goal in life, but helping others was. She loved the arts and served as chairman of many art shows here in Tennessee and in Ohio. After moving here, she served as a tutor to students at the old vocational school and also as a mentor with the Health Improvement Council. Alice served as membership chairperson at Tellico Village Community Church for four years and also was head of Vacation Bible School for two years. The family would like to thank the care givers and nurses at The Lantern at Morning Pointe for their love and care, the wonderful hospice team from Amedisys, and her nurse practitioner, Susan Johnson. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cleves, OH. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Community Church at Tellico Village on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Bob Puckett and Rev. Dr. John Orr officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
