Alma E. Meister

Alma Elizabeth Meister (nee Behlmer), 96, of Miami Township, died on Nov. 30, 2015, at Pristine Senior Living of Three Rivers. She was born on June 26,1919, to the late Fredrick and Louisa (Bernhardt) Behlmer, in Batesville, IN. She was the devoted wife of the late Elmer A. Meister. They were married on February 20, 1937, in Los Angeles, CA. She is the beloved mother of Dennis E. (Karen), Marvin R. (Sandy), Ronald G. (Ruthie), Gordon H. (Cheryl), David L. (Debbie), the late Gerald H. ( Gail), and Terry L. Meister, and the loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Loving sister of Alberta Estridge and the late Gilbert and Henry Behlmer. She lost her mother due to childbirth complications when Alma was ten years old. She helped her father raise her 3 younger siblings. She learned to cook and sew and manage a household. At the age of 16, she met her sweetheart for life, and Elmer helped care for her siblings after her father died of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Through out her life she loved and served the Lord. She and her family were active members of the former First United Methodist Church of Cleves. She was known for her delicious meringue cream pies, especially butterscotch. Alma and Elmer enjoyed camping at fishing lakes and making new friends. Visitation is Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, 10 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM, at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S.
