Catherine W. "Kate" Franz (nee Morling), 86, of Hidden Valley, formerly of Miami Heights, died on Aug. 10 at the Hospice of Cincinnati at Mercy Hospital Western Hills.
She was a homemaker & a member of St. Joseph Church of North Bend, OH where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary, the Rosary Altar Society & as an office volunteer. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliaries of Miller Stockum Post & Post #239.
She was the beloved wife of the late COL William F. Franz USAR Ret., the devoted mother of William H. (Laurie), Gary S. & Eric J. (Melissa) Franz & Julie C. Pieczonka (Oscar), the loving grandmother of William F., Hillary L. & Valerie L. Franz; Austin J. Franz & Brittney E. Cassell; Gwendolyn A., Megan E. & Gretchen M. Bohman, Todd Pieczonka (Joanna) & Marcy Stinson (Ed) & the dear sister of Ruth McMullen & the late Edith Pendleton (Jim) & Fred Morling. Also survived by 6 gr. grandchildren & nieces & nephews.
Visitation Fri., Aug. 13, 5-8 PM at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves. Mass of the Christian Burial Sat., Aug. 14, 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 25 E. Harrison Ave. (P.O. Box 219), North Bend, OH 45052. Memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph Church Bldg. Fund. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleves.
