Douglas W. Turner

Turner, Douglas W. Joined his parents, Howard and Hester Turner, in Heaven on March 28, 2009. Born May, 1934, his growing up years were spent in Cleves, Ohio area where he made many lifelong friends. A Taylor High School graduate '52 has remained a loyal alumni. Doug married Carolyn (Wright), the love of his life in 1956. They celebrated their 51st Anniversary in 2007 with their many friends while in Cleves for the class of '52's 55th class reunion. He shared his love of baseball with the many Little League teams he coached in Cleves and Bright where he moved his family in 1961. Doug was involved in community activities and was proud of his contributions to the Tri-Township Water Corporation serving as treatment plant operator, general manager, and President from its inception until 1981. Transferred to Tucson, Arizona in 1980 by Chevron (1956-1992), he finished his working career in the desert. Survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn, children, Beth and David Turner, grandson, Patrick and Andrew Turner, brother, Bill Turner, Cleves, sisters, Jean (Fritz) Runck, Cleves, and Lana Hengehold (North Bend), sisters-in-law, Sharon Meyer and Sally Hughes (Hamilton), great grandaughter, Kira Rose Turner, and nieces, Kim and Barbara, and nephews, Mike and Jeff, the late Stephen Whitney, and many cousins. Memorials to Doug Turner Memorial Scholarship for Taylor High School c/o PNC Bank 1 Miami Ave. in Cleves, OH. 45002. Memorial Service at Dennis George Funeral Home, Cleves. June 20, 2-4 P.M.
