Edward "Red" Courtney Jr., was born on May 10,1927, in Bradford,KY, to the late Edward H. Jr. and Sopha Ona Hutchinson Courtney, and died on Nov. 17,2007,at his home in Kennesaw, GA., at the age of 80 years.
He was a a longtime Barber in Cleves, later an employee of the Central Trust Co., a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict & WWII, & a member of the former Cleves United Methodist Church, the Miller Stockum Post #485 American Legion, the Harrison VFW, the North Bend Lodge #346 F&AM, the Scottish Rite, & the Commandery. He was a former Mayor & Councilmember in Cleves, OH.
He was the husband of the late Ileen J. Ruhlman Courtney. He is the father of Edward A. Courtney (fiance Karon Raymond) & the grandfather of Michelle, Michael & Mindy Courtney. He was the brother of the late Laverne, Delbert & Marvin Courtney.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 21, at the Dennis George Funeral Home, Cleves, with interment following in Miamitown Cemetery, Miamitown, OH.
