India D. Shannon

January 9, 1953 — March 17, 2008

India "Diane" Shannon, 55, of Hamilton, formerly of Cleves, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 17, 2008 at The Fort Hamilton Vitas Hospice. Born January 9, 1953 in Hamilton, Ohio to Vince and Pauline (Turner) Barger. On August 21, 1982 she married William E. Shannon, who preceded her in death May 10, 2007. Diane graduated from Garfield High School in 1971. She was a secretary in various insurance and doctor's offices, retiring in 1998. She also was a former secretary at Hilltop Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with her family and friends, traveling and shopping. Diane is survived by one sister LaVerne (Mike) Lingler; one brother, Vince (Bonnie) Barger; step-mother Marie Barger; one aunt Priscilla Lucas; two uncles Squire Turner and Mannon (Ruth) Turner; nieces and nephews Lisa (Jerry) Haeufle, Lori (Greg) Smith, Rob (Christie) Titmus, Scott (Tonya) & Todd (Amanda) Barger; eight great nieces Stephanie, Nikki, Alex, Chloe, Kati, Courtney, Taylor, Lindsey; one great nephew Casey; many cousins and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents and daughter Kelley Michelle Bowling. Visitation Thurs., Mar. 20, 11 AM-1 PM, followed by the service at 1 PM, Pastor Barry Wilson and Martin Ran officiating, all at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves, OH. Burial at Miamitown, OH Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at The Fort Hamilton Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care given to Diane and to the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spina Bifida Assn. or Am. Cancer Soc.
