J. Deane Raines Sr., 85, of Cleves, died on May 3, 2014 at Liberty Riverview, Delhi Township. He had worked as an auditor with the Kroger Co., was a US Army veteran of WWII, a member of Cleves Presbyterian Church, North Bend Lodge #346 F&AM, Marvin Chapter #376 OES, Syrian Shrine, Scottish Rite, North Bend Mark Lodge #1, Royal Arch Chapter #164, Cincinnati Council #1 & Cincinnati Knights Templar #3. He was the beloved husband of Bernice L. King Raines, the devoted father of John D. Raines Jr., Sandra Mitchell, Susan Raines, Judy Heaton (Bob) & the late Thomas Raines (Judy), the loving grandfather of Barbara Mader, Robert & Christopher Mitchell, Justin Raines, Jennifer Schopin & Jessica McIntyre, great grandfather of 8 & dear brother of Joan Biggs, Noah & Gary Raines, Jane Kosa, Patricia Donahue & the late Robert Raines & Florence Grimm. Visitation Tues., May 6, 6-9 PM at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves, OH 45002. North Bend Lodge #346 F&AM, Scottish Rite & Marvin Chapter #376 OES services Tues., 7:30 PM. Funeral Wed., May 7, 10:30 AM at the Cleves Presbyterian Church, 25 E. State Rd., Cleves. Interment following in Maple Grove Cemetery Cleves.
