Joseph Donald Siegert, 88, of Erlanger, KY & formerly of Miami Heights, died on Aug. 19 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Florence, KY.

He was the husband of Margaret (Reeves) Sanford Siegert. He was preceded in death by first wife, Aletha (Patrick) Siegert, daughter Nancy Jane (Siegert) Bavaro & brother Raymon C. Siegert. He was the son of the late Joseph Martin & Maud (Campbell) Siegert. He is survived by daughter Katherine Marie Siegert of Denver, CO, brother Robert E. (Annabelle) Siegert, son-in-law & daughter-in-law Michael & Barbara Bavaro, stepsons Michael Sanford & Jack (Judy) Sanford, 3 grandchildren; Scott (Jamie) Bavaro, Greg (Renee) Bavaro, Kelli (Steve) Snyder, step-grandchildren Glenn (Valerie Mueller) Sheriff , Sara (Ben) Sheriff-Geiger, Eric (Lindsay) Sanford & Mark (Melodie) Sanford. Also survived by great grandchildren: Morgan, Noah & Adyn Bavaro, Luke & Nick Snyder & step-great-grandchildren Oliver Sheriff & Avery Sanford along with many nieces & nephews.

Don was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleves, OH; Cleves Three Rivers Kiwanis Club; VFW Post #10380 Green Township; North Bend Lodge #346 F&AM, Cleves; Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati & Syrian Shrine; Taylor High School Sports Hall of Fame; Taylor High School Alumni Association; North Bend, Ohio Retired Teachers Association; Insiders & Outsiders Retired Teachers Organization. He played professional baseball for 8 years, served in the US Army WWII for 3 years with the 173rd Field Artillery Battery B in Italy, retired from P&G after 28 years as a machinist in the Department of Research & Development and taught night school at Ohio College of Applied Science for 30 years.

Visitation Fri., Aug. 21, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM, with Scottish Rite Ring service at 1:30 PM followed immediately by the funeral service all at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves, OH 45002. Interment following in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church, 82 Harrison Ave., Cleves, OH 45002 or to the Scholarship Fund of the Cleves Three Rivers Kiwanis Club, c/o the funeral home.
