Lowell passed away at his home on October 5th at the age of 84. Lowell was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on May 6th,1933. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Lowe, his father Edgel R. Curtis, and stepmother Mary Helen Curtis, all of Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judi Curtis, and three sons & daughters-in-law: Scott Curtis, Shawn (Quana) Curtis of Ohio, Jeff (Karen) Curtis of New Smyrna Beach, and Patti Curtis of NC; six grandchildren, Nicholas & Mackenzie Curtis, Hannah & Hayley Curtis, and Kyle & Rebecca Curtis; two sisters, Faye Wheeler and Darlene (Bill) Perkins of Ohio; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Florida and Ohio. Lowell graduated from Clay High School in Portsmouth, Ohio in 1950, then served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1954. He moved to Gainesville, Florida and worked as a car sales manager at a dealership for many years, later becoming the owner of dealerships in Florida and North Carolina. He owned Liberty Collision in New Smyrna Beach, FL. He was an avid fan of the Florida Gators and Nascar Racing, and was a past member of a bowling league and Kiwanis. He also enjoyed watching classic westerns with his beloved four-legged girl, Sadie. He will long be remembered for his quiet and easy going spirit. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
