Dole, Mary Cecelia "Cele" Loftus, age 94, passed away February 22, 2007. Wife of the late Robert J. Dole, loving mother of Marilyn Dole Conner and husband Bruce Conner, and Nancy Dole and husband John Runkle. Grandmother of Brad (Laura) Conner and Deanna (Douglas) Gable, and great grandmother of Brooke and Brandon Conner and Ireland Gable.
Longtime resident of Westwood and Cheviot where she was a member of the Westwood United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, and member and president of the Homebuilders. She worked at a local savings and loan, was an accomplished seamstress, and a blue-ribbon pie maker. She resided at Twin Towers Retirement Community for six years, where she provided volunteer graphics, word processing, editing, and computer services, chaired the Dining Committee, was an avid bridge player, and crocheted prayer shawls so that her arms continue to be wrapped around so many who knew her. She was an avid sports fan, always cheering for the UC Bearcats and the Reds.
Friends are invited to join the family at a service at Twin Towers Wilson Chapel (5343 Hamilton Ave., College Hill) on Monday, February 26 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception. Interment at Spring Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Twin Towers Benevolent Fund, Hospice of Cincinnati, or the Westwood United Methodist Church.
