Beloved husband of the late Janet Hicks Barnes, devoted father of Shawn Hicks (Tammy), Rachele Barnes, James Barnes (Toni), Chrissy Barnes & the late Wesley Vance, beloved son of the late Martha L. (nee Murphy) & James E. Barnes, dear brother of Shirley Vance, Evelyn Tharp, Kenneth King & Jimmy Barnes & dear brother-in-law of Richard "Hudey" Hicks. Also survived by 10 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 4 siblings. Services at the convenience of the family with interment in Baltimore Pike Cemetery.
