Milton L. Van Schoik, devoted husband of Jane (nee Mueller) Van Schoik. Beloved father of Sharon (Rick) Arquilla, Beth (Ray) Hoendorf & David (Amy) Van Schoik. Loving grandfather of Kristen (Justin) Thomas, Amy (Peter Craft) Arquilla, Lauren (Michael) Horejs; R.J., Rachel & Matthew Hoendorf; Michael & Benjamin Van Schoik & great grandfather of Katherine & Abigail Thomas. Passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 on his 86th birthday. Milt was a graduate of University High School, Columbus, OH. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Pocono & later a graduate of The Ohio State University. His distinguished corporate career included 33 years at Cincinnati Gas & Electric, retiring as a Vice President & serving on the board of Glenway Loan & Deposit. Above all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his 60 years of marriage to Jane. Milt was an active member of Westwood First Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder, Deacon & Trustee. He enjoyed the arts including the CSO, Pops & the Playhouse. He was an avid fisherman, tennis & platform tennis player, golfer, gin rummy player & longtime member of Western Hills Country Club. His ballroom dancing was admired by many. Visitation at the Westwood First Presbyterian Church, 3011 Harrison Ave., 45211 on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 10 AM until time of service at 12 noon. Interment will be private at the Spring Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 8050 Hosbrook Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45236.
