Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Velma Mae Cates (nee Gentry), devoted father of David Cates, Patricia Bauer (the late Paul), Nancy Berne (Honda), Melinda Beck, loving grandfather of Jessica, Jennifer, Kayla, Katlyn, Harley, Indian, Jacob, Emma & the late Logan, gr. grandfather of James, Eli, Lacie, Sebastian, Kaylee, Kadance & Lillian, beloved son of the late Dollie (nee Lamb) & Oskar Cates.
