Robert Richard Lacey, 84, died June 20 at his Harrison, OH residence. He was born Sept. 7, 1927 in Addyston, OH to Stephen & Rosella (Schweitzer) Lacey, both preceded him in death. He attended Taylor High School & graduated from West High Night School in 1959. On June 7, 1947, he married his sweetheart, Juanita Grace Smith. He & Juanita had 2 daughters, Linda & Robin, whom they raised in the Christian faith in the Addyston United Methodist Church. Bob was employed by the US Postal Service & retired with 32 yrs. service. He enjoyed visiting with those on his route & sharing his faith in Jesus with them. Every Thurs. evening, he kept books for Grigsby Construction Co., while managing to operate his own cleaning service. After his retirement from the USPS, he enjoyed working for Dennis George Funeral Home. He had a way of easing the tension & stress with his positive attitude & endless jokes. At his death, Bob was a charter member of the Dearborn Hills United Methodist Church in Bright, IN where he served God in many ways. He was a member of the Nut-N-Funny Clown Ministry & of the Cleves Three Rivers Kiwanis. He volunteered his time on mission trips in the US, Haiti & Mexico & delivered Meals on Wheels. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 yrs., Juanita Smith Lacey; 2 daughters, Linda (Paul) Krinop & Robin (Bill) Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Tracy (Marcus) Cleveland, Winnie (Ty) Cooper & Cody Johnson; 2 great grandchildren, Xavier Simpson & Benjamin Howell; 2 brothers, Roland Lacey & Jerry Vaughn, 3 sisters; Gloria Oldfield, Shirley Morath & Sharon Yost. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Max, Stephen & Harold Lacey & Jim Vaughn. Visitation Fri., June 22, 4-8 PM at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves, OH 45002, where the service will be held Sat., June 23 at 9:45 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to God's Bright Treasures of Dearborn Hills UMC or to the pipe organ fund of the First Presbyterian Church of Harrison, either c/o the funeral home.
