Theodore J. \"Ted\" Bowling, 81, died at his Ross residence on July 19, 2016. Ted was born Feb. 19, 1935 in Cleves, OH to William H. & Hazel (nee Raisor) Bowling, was raised in Hooven, graduated Taylor High School in 1953 & earned his undergraduate degree at the College of Mt. St. Joseph. He worked as an Engineering Specialist, retiring from Monsanto in 1993, with 40 years service. He was Commander of Flotilla 5-1 of the US Coast Guard Auxilliary & retired as Lt. Commander in the Ohio Naval Militia. He was a member of North Bend Lodge #346 F&AM & a life member of American Legion Post 777, Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his daughters Kathy Osborne & Karen Jones (Brent), by his grandchildren Shannon & Jefferey Osborne, Kara Runck Ricketts, Jon & Katy Jones & by 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his siblings, Bob & Larry Bowling, Patty Wright & Myrna Glick & by his wife of 24 years, Scyrene Balsley. Visitation Fri., July 22, 7-9 PM at the Dennis George Funeral Home, 44 S. Miami, Cleves, OH 45002, where the service will be held Sat., July 23 at 10 AM. At age 65, he turned a lap of over 150 MPH at Kentucky Speedway. He was one of the original guys who drag raced both autos & motorcycles at Thornhill, KY, Edgewater & Tri-State dragstrips. He was quick to tell anyone he had no special talent, but talk about his buddies that did, some of whom are still living. He loved life & enjoyed his journey.
