Verna Katherine Padgett

Verna Katherine (nee Seal) Padgett, 71, of Fairfield, Ohio passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born to the late John Edward and Cynthia Ruby (nee Ellis) Seal of Cleves, Ohio and daughter-in-law to the late Victor Wilson and Mary Margaret (nee Bickley) Padgett of Carthage, Ohio, she was a 1960 graduate of Taylor High School. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, David Lee Padgett; children, Lance Stephen Seibel-Padgett of Fairfield, Ohio, Barbara Nicole (Amanda Howenstine) Padgett of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael David (Kara Sweeney) Padgett of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada; sisters, Ruth Ann (David) Lahey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara Lee Grubbs of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, and Helen Elizabeth (Calvin) Young of Cleves, Ohio; and brother John Edward Seal, Jr. of Cleves, Ohio. She was grandmother to Squeegie, Bux, Chipper, Parker, Nathan, and Zoe; and, aunt to many nieces and nephews. Kathy joins her late siblings Carolyn Sue (Benny) Price, Donald James Seal, Daniel Ray Seal, Joseph Sherman (Karen) Seal, and Robert Alan Seal. Friends may visit the Padgett Residence at 2813 Resor Road, Fairfield, Ohio, 45014 from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. A short service will take place at 2 p.m. to celebrate Kathy. Interment will be held by the family privately at a later date.
